Full disclosure of our funding model, commercial referral relationships, and our binding institutional guarantee of zero commercial influence on benchmark results.
In compliance with the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255), the European Union Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), and global advertising standards, RDPChoice publishes this comprehensive disclosure regarding our commercial monetization model.
RDPChoice is an independent research publication and performance benchmarking laboratory. To maintain our high-precision colocation testbeds (Equinix LD4, NY4, and FR2), acquire enterprise test hardware, and purchase anonymous server accounts across hundreds of hosting providers without charging subscription fees to readers, we participate in selective commercial affiliate programs.
Our commercial monetization model is governed by four strict organizational boundaries:
Affiliate tracking parameters are added to outgoing links only after a provider has completed our full 72-hour benchmark suite and received an empirical score. An unranked provider cannot enter our index through commercial negotiation.
Our editorial rankings and comparison badges are generated deterministically by mathematical algorithms based on CPU scores, IOPS, and latency. A provider offering a 40% affiliate commission will rank below a zero-commission provider if its hardware underperforms.
Badges such as “#1 Verified Benchmark” or “Lowest Jitter LD4” cannot be purchased. They are awarded strictly to the highest-scoring entity in that hardware category during the current audit cycle.
Clicking our referral links never increases the price you pay. In many cases, RDPChoice readers receive exclusive lab promotional coupons (e.g. RDPCHOICE15) that lower the retail subscription cost.
RDPChoice tracks and benchmarks dozens of international hosting, VPS, and GPU infrastructure providers. We may maintain commercial referral relationships with several of the following audited brands: RockHoster, Hetzner Online, Kamatera, Contabo, Vultr, DigitalOcean, RunPod, Lambda Labs, Scaleway, and OVHcloud.
